How I Make Money Blogging as a Digital Nomad: RVing For Bosses Case Study

Case Study Objective: This is an in-depth strategy breakdown of RVing For Bosses, demonstrating how to turn a passion for RVing and Working While You Roam into a monetized Digital Nomad blog business model tailored for RVers. In this case study, I am auditing the revenue engines and strategic content architecture for this niche digital estate.

Introduction: Architecting a RVing Nomadic Digital Estate

If you’ve ever wondered how to make money blogging as a digital nomad, this case study breaks down the exact strategy I used to architect RVing For Bosses — the executive career wing of my RV lifestyle digital estate.

RVing For Bosses is my dedicated Digital Estate for those who dream of traveling full-time while maintaining a high-level professional career from the comfort of their RV. It’s the “Executive Suite” of my portfolio, architected specifically for digital nomads and RV entrepreneurs who need to master the balance between total freedom and business productivity.

While my main site, [RVersity], serves as the “Lifestyle Hub” for rig setup and travel hacks, RVing For Bosses serves a different “Resident” profile. It’s not about how to RV—it’s about how to fund the RV life. From remote-work job listings and productivity tools to specialized Wi-Fi setups and nomadic business hacks, this site is the career engine for the modern road warrior.

💡 Why I Started This Blog

When I built RVersity, it quickly became a go-to sanctuary for everything RV-related. However, as the community grew, I noticed a significant “Structural Gap” in the market. Many residents weren’t just looking for floorplans and campground reviews; they were trying to solve the Income Equation. They wanted to work from the road, but the general RV crowd wasn’t speaking their language.

That’s when I made the strategic move to architect RVing For Bosses. By spinning this off into its own estate, I was able to:

  • Sharpen the SEO Signal: Target high-intent career keywords like “remote work hacks” and “digital nomad business” without diluting my general RV lifestyle rankings.
  • Segment the Audience: Speak directly to “Bosses”—working-aged entrepreneurs and remote employees—who have different needs than the average weekend warrior.
  • Organize the Portfolio: Keep the “Digital RV University” (RVersity) and the “RV Digital Nomad Business School” (RVing For Bosses) clearly zoned so users can find exactly what they need.
  • Expand Monetization: Open up new revenue streams specifically for nomadic professionals, such as specialized software, remote-work gear, and business coaching.

This blog became my blueprint for teaching others how to take their work on the road using the same systems and tools I’ve used to architect my own location-independent empire.

💰 The RVing For Bosses Revenue Engine

Even though RVing For Bosses is in the “Polishing Phase,” the structural plumbing is already installed. This estate is architected to be a high-performance nomadic wing, leveraging my existing authority in the RV space while carving out new income streams.

In this section, I am auditing the RV Digital Nomad blog revenue breakdown and business model for this specific digital estate.

📦 Referral Engine (Affiliate Marketing)

STATUS: ACTIVE ✅

Affiliate marketing is a major focus here—especially promoting:

  • Remote work tools and productivity apps.
  • Blogging, business, and automation platforms.
  • RV + Digital Nomad-friendly Wi-Fi solutions, tech gear, and travel essentials.

Whenever someone signs up or buys through my affiliate links, I earn a small commission.

Behind the Scenes: Because I get so many questions about how this actually works, I recorded a full tutorial over on my personal channel, Blogging Brandi, explaining the mechanics of affiliate marketing. If you’re curious about how I turn my content and recommendations into a revenue engine, you can watch that breakdown below:

📺 Display Advertising

STATUS: IN PROGRESS 🚧

I’ve been setting up Google AdSense and optimizing the blog layout to prepare for ad approval. Display ads will add passive income once traffic increases. This is a completely separate website from RVersity so it’s a work in progress, but they feed off each other.

✍️ Sponsored Content

STATUS: IN PROGRESS 🚧

While I haven’t accepted official brand partnerships yet for this specific blog, I’m laying the groundwork to collaborate with companies offering remote-work gear, travel tech, and business software.

If I get any deals through RVersity, I will also promote them here if they fit. It’s a “2 for 1 deal” for my business and brand relationships (and niche audiences).

💼 Digital Products & Courses

STATUS: ACTIVE ✅

I’ve started developing digital products and online courses designed to help others make money online—from blogging and affiliate marketing to building a business that fits your lifestyle.

  • Premium paid resources help the estate scale and grow.
  • Free resources help build traffic and email subscribers.

👕 Merch / Physical Products

STATUS: ACTIVE ✅

RVing For Bosses also features branded merch and lifestyle products for RV nomads and RV entrepreneurs on the move — a fun, creative way to spread the brand while earning extra income. I also have my affiliate and recommended products/services set up in the shop.

Best of all, it’s easy to set up your own merch store for free with Printful, and you NEVER have to see or ship the product yourself!

🧑‍🏫 Services / Coaching

STATUS: REDIRECTED ✅

I offer coaching and consulting sessions for aspiring digital nomads and bloggers, but this is mainly through RVersity or Born to Blog Club.

Either how to get into RV life or how to build a blog—otherwise the content they need is on MY BLOGS and online areas. So technically they could set up a call. These “pick my brain” calls cover topics like:

  • Setting up a blog or online business.
  • Remote income ideas.
  • Marketing, branding, and monetization strategies.

💌 Donations or Memberships

STATUS: SYNCED ✅

RVersity is an RV university and the memberships are connected—if you subscribe to one, you get the other right now. I’m working out the kinks for how I want to organize these long-term.

I also have the option to donate, buy me a coffee, or leave a tip. I have separate sides for the Digital Nomad Community or membership options while I work out the long-term strategy.

🎥 YouTube / Other Income

STATUS: SETUP STAGE 🚧

There’s an RVing For Bosses YouTube channel ready to go, though I haven’t started posting yet. The plan is to repurpose content from the blog and other platforms into videos once I refine the strategy.

RVersity is Active on YouTube, so that is where I focus my RV related content—aka my time and energy—since that channel is already monetized and making money.

📈 Traffic & Growth Overview: Building the Signal

Currently, RVing For Bosses is in the “Setup and Refinement” stage. I am focusing my energy on polishing the site structure, creating cornerstone content, and building out the SEO foundation.

Since I originally mixed this content within RVersity, I’ve been gradually migrating and optimizing posts for clarity. Here’s what’s working in the growth phase:

  • ✅ Clear Niche Separation: By splitting this off, I’ve seen an immediate SEO boost and a more focused audience.
  • ✅ Automation Systems: Setting up the “Plumbing” for sharing new posts automatically.
  • ✅ Organic Foundations: We are already seeing growth in Pinterest and organic search traffic.
  • ✅ Lead Magnets: Creating downloadable resources tied directly to nomadic career content.

What I’m still improving:

  • Site layout and navigation for the “Boss” user experience.
  • The Ad Network approval process for this specific domain.
  • Email Marketing: Building deeper community engagement specifically for the nomadic professional.

Even though it’s not “Fully Active” yet, Google is already indexing the site, and we are gaining visibility through Internal Linking from my other high-authority estates.

🔍 The Portfolio Audit: What’s Working (and What’s Next)

To maintain an empire of 12 sites, you have to be ruthless about where you spend your energy. Here is the current lab report for the RVing For Bosses estate:

✅ The Wins (What’s Building the Estate):

  • The Big Split: Niche separation from RVersity has been a clear SEO win.
  • Infrastructure: Affiliate setup and resource pages are fully installed.
  • Repurposing: Using existing content and automation to keep the estate running without a massive energy drain.
  • Branding: Strong domain authority and a clear “Boss” brand identity.

⚠️ The Challenges (What’s Still Under Construction):

  • Consistency: Establishing a firm blog posting schedule amidst managing the other estates.
  • Broadcasting Tower: YouTube content creation is still on the back burner.
  • Audience Isolation: Building a separate, active email list dedicated solely to this niche.
  • Marketing Strategy: Currently, I’m relying on RVersity for cross-promotion. The next phase is turning Pinterest and SEO into a standalone traffic engine for this brand.
