My 30 Day Blogging Challenge Results: I Blogged for 30 Days Straight — Was It Worth It? Every Day, I Hit Publish. Here’s What I Didn’t Expect… From Blank Page to Breakthroughs: These are My Daily Blogging Challenge Results. Learn How Writing Daily Made Me a Better Blogger in Just One Month! 30 Days, 30 Blog Posts: I Blogged Every Day for a Month! This is What I Learned Writing Daily…

Here’s What Happened One Month, One Post a Day: My Daily Blogging Journey

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you actually blogged every single day? I did — for 30 days straight. No skipping. No batching. Just me, my laptop, and the commitment to hit “publish” daily. It wasn’t easy (spoiler: some days, it really sucked), but the results? Totally worth it.

In this post, I’m sharing the behind-the-scenes of my 30-day blogging challenge — the wins, the struggles, the stats, and the surprising things I learned that could change the way you blog, too.

Getting Started On My Blogging Challenge:

I did this Blogging Challenge with students of mine at the time. I was try to get them comfortable with consistency and writing aka blogging, without boundaries, rules, or limitations. It was more about the act of writing, repetition, and eventually the ability to look back and review what they created.

I also have a motto: “Perfection is the Enemy of Done — aim for done, you can always come back and perfect things later on. (Plus it’s hard to perfect or make something better you haven’t begun…)

You also DO NOT NEED A BLOG to complete this blogging Challenge — I removed all the barriers to entry and made this blogging challenge EASY compete in by using Medium a FREE Blogging Platform that allows you to start a blog, have an instant audience to read your content and GET PAID to blog if you decide to sign up for their “Medium Partner Program” later on.

The Rules Of My Daily Blogging Challenge:

The rules were simple, just blog and write, even if you have nothing to blog about, show up and say: I’m showing up, but I have nothing to blog about…” But you can blog about anything: your dog, your day, your family, friends, life events, etc… that doesn’t mean they’re going to see it or read it. Plus they’d likely NEVER know about your blog unless you told them and sent them the link. Just saying…

Keeping The Momentum Going Blogging EVERY DAY:

One last thing I ask everyone to do in an effort to encourage everyone to not only start blogging but keep on, was that I create a Slack Group at the time and had them drop links to their post everyday in the group saying I’m done “here’s the link to my new blog post” etc.. BUT you can do this with Discord or a Facebook Group too. Even Text Messages or an email will do!

If you don’t have a community or group you can also consider publishing to an email list OR posting on social media in an effort to stay motivated. It’s easier to stay encouraged when others are expecting something from us. If you tell your followers hey I’m going to be posting everyday and then don’t well you might expect them to wonder what’s going on. So this could be a subconscious way of doing things. Whatever works for you!

What I Learned Blogging Daily?

At the beginning of this “Blogging Challenge,” part of the work was done in advance. I had several blog posts “pre-written” — most of which were all blogs I wrote but could never find the courage to hit publish and send them out into the world for public view! Or kept saying one day that will be a good one to post…

Blogging Struggles

I was also traveling during part of the time this “Daily Blogging Challenge” was going on, which made it a little more “Challenging” for me to work while traveling, but I vowed to keep the promise I made, no matter where I planned to be that month, at least!

Blogging Tips

I’ve found it easiest to keep notes on my phone of blog posts I plan to write. I also like to start “draft blog posts” on my website and add them to my “editorial calendar” — it’s more of a visual thing.

But, one thing I SUCK at is doing anything in real time. I’m one of those people who say oh, I’ll remember to just review and post things each week, or I’ll come back to that… yet my life is a little unpredictable so I NEVER make it back “on time” to anything I plan ahead like that.

Blogging Learning Lessons

My biggest gift is learning how to automate and schedule everything I can to go out in advance, even if it’s not done or perfect yet. The benefit is that if I forget to go back and review before it’s published at least it gets out when I wanted it to, even if I have to make edits after the fact. Otherwise, I might come back a month later and see NONE of the content I was working on ever posted or worse I never finished it!
