Plus, I especially don’t want to charge money to those who need to make money and improve their financial situation. It’s like sending a dying patient a six-figure bill for their treatment – something I find ethically immoral.

It takes time to become successful with their blogs, so why not charge money to teach others to do the same? Because I know As a blogger, I get a lot of questions from others who also want to learn how to blog!

Born To BLOG (NOT Vlog)

I cried when I came to the realization… I was born to blog, not vlog. But, for the past 5 years, I’ve done quite the opposite! WRITING is my passion! I love to journal and keep a spiral-bound notebook by my side. I have tons of them stacked in boxes. FULL of ideas, brainstorms, book ideas, projects, business plans, and more!

When I came up with the name “Blogging Brandi” it was EXACTLY for that purpose! I wanted to BLOG aka WRITE — my intended purpose was NOT to end up on YouTube VLOGGING about my life!

I’ve been struggling with this “thing” inside of me for a while and it wasn’t until I gathered a small group of students to share my strategy for creating an online business, blog, and brand that it became apparent what had happened to me on my journey Vlogging vs Blogging!

Whether you’re trying to decide on a name for your blog, or already have a name in mind you want to use be sure to do your research to see if anyone else is already using it, and if so how? Also, is the website URL (i.e. www.YourBlogName.com) available? What about the social media username handles for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok etc…? Can you get the same handle on every platform such as @YourBlogName? I mean you want to look uniform like a real brand and business or should I say BLOG online! It’s called Branding!

Also, I always get this question or resistance to being on every social platform. For instance, if you don’t think you’ll use Twitter, why make an account? Well, one day you might want to use Twitter and you might not be able to get the same matching username you used on all your other accounts. It mainly comes down to branding and having the handle if you decide to use it. Or maybe you just don’t want someone else impersonating your brand? Either way, it’s a good idea to grab all the same matching social handles and URL if at all possible from the start. No one is forcing you to use them!

There are a few places I would start to do some research before deciding on a name for your blog, buying the domain, securing the social handles etc… And these are in no particular order.
